Application Process

All current job openings at the Mitchell Department of Public Safety can be viewed on the City of Mitchell's job listings page. 

If a Mitchell Department of Public Safety position is not listed on the job listings page you may submit an application for consideration of future openings.

The Mitchell Department of Public Safety requires applicants who are seeking Patrol Officer, Communication Specialist, or Firefighter/EMT positions to take a written test.  The Mitchell Department of Public Safety will set a test date shortly after the application closing date.

SELECTION PROCESS

Once testing results have been received; candidates will be selected to advance to the interview stage in our hiring process based upon test scores.

When a candidate advances past the interview stage, they will receive a job offer contingent upon passing the following:

• Background Investigation

• Psychological Testing

• Drug Testing

• Occupational Physical
